Chris Wolski

Sorghum & Cotton Seed

Growing up on the Darling Downs, Chris joined the team at A & B Grains in 2006 in an administration / export logistics role, over seeing all incoming and outgoing product in both the grain and cotton seed divisions. In 2010 Chris moved onto the trading division of A & B where he assumed the role of trading manager at the start of 2012. Focussing on Sorghum and Cotton Seed, Chris also oversees trade of all commodities in both domestic and export markets.


Shane Macnamara

Birdseed, Corn & Pulses

Growing up in western Queensland, Shane was always going to be part of a rural industry.Entering the workforce as an apprentice diesel mechanic, Shane quickly found his niche working on cotton pickers taking him to all the major cotton growing areas of Australia.Leaving the mechanical profession, Shane went on to work for a large farming operation on the Darling Downs before joining A & B Grains 2011.Now looking after Birdseed, Corn and Pulse trading at A & B, Shane’s experience sees him well equipped to deal with the requirements of both the grower and the consumer.

Rod Wolski

Managing Director

Growing up on the Darling Downs, Rod spent his formative years working on both the family farm and other local farms in and around the Dalby area.Later moving onto the transport industry, Rod went onto manage a large livestock transport company which seen him travelling to all corners of Queensland.In 1987 the decision was taken to purchase a little seed grading business in Oakey called A & B Grains.Today Rod still plays an active role in the direction and day-to-day activity of the business, lending his many years of experience and knowledge to the current team of traders.

Paul Bowen

Container Exports

Paul brings over 22 years of experience in international trade, with the last 15 of these years spent specialising in containerised grain and oilseed export to Asian markets.Spending time at Craig Mostyn & Co and CBH Group, Paul gained valuable knowledge and experience in international trade to establish his own brokerage and consulting company, Royal Grain Australia.Paul works with A & B Grains to assist in direct exports of oilseeds, pulses and grains to various Asian markets.

I have over 22 years experience in international trade with more than 15 years focusing on containerised grain and oilseed export specialising in Asian markets. I gained substantial export experience working for Craig Mostyn & Co and then CBH Group before establishing Royal Grain as a brokerage and consulting company. I am assisting A&B Grains to add value to their domestic grain trading business by capturing a share of the burgeoning demand in Asia for Australian high quality grains.

Gareth Stapleton

Wheat & Barley

Gareth joined A&B grains in December 2014, with 22 years of experience trading in Foreign exchange and energy derivative markets in Sydney, Tokyo and Singapore Gareth bringsa wealth of international trading experience to A & B Grains and the Australian grain industry.Having spent much of his career overseas, Gareth relocated his family back to Australia in 2014 to take up this new opportunity.Gareth now oversees the Wheat and Barley trading activities for A & B Grains.

Julie Byers


Born and raised on the Darling Downs Julie joined the team at A & B Grains in 2003 as an Administration Assistant.Quickly coming to terms with the nuances of the grain industry Julie was well equipped to take on the role of Administration Manager when the position became available in 2011.
